In 1993, Dr. Osama tried to buy a house built in the eastern Mosul style, with its facade overlooking the Tigris River, but he did not find anything suitable. Then he bought the plot on which he founded an oriental-style house that carried a portion of modernity, which was completed in 1996. He used to come and live annually. There until the house was destroyed during the liberation operations, he took over the expenses to restore the house and add a swimming pool to it.

Several attempts began in 2018 by Mr. Ayoub Thanoun, head of the Mosul Heritage Foundation, to communicate with Dr. Osama Abdel Qader and propose the idea of converting his house into a site for the foundation to include several parts, including a community museum.
